Chronic Pain Self-Management

The Chronic Pain Self-Management Program (CPSMP), a research-based program developed by Stanford University. This workshop is given two and a half hours, once a week, for six weeks, in various locations. Workshops are facilitated by two trained leaders, one or both of whom are peers with chronic pain themselves.

Whatever condition you have, you can learn how to live a healthy, productive life. You can join in on classes with individuals just like you and learn lessons proven to help improve confidence.

This program teaches you:

  • How to communicate more effectively with your doctor and family
  • The mind-body connection/distraction
  • The benefits of physical activity
  • About food and chronic pain

Who is it for?

If you have chronic pain or love someone who does, then this workshop is for you. Classes are highly participative, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives.
